Kaat Celis

Kaat Celis finished her studies in 2003 as master in plastic arts, option photography. A diploma she gained at Luca Arts in Brussel. Immediately after graduation she conquered the world as independent photographer (2003-2006), being project coordinator at Sint-Lucas Ghent at the same time. After a while press photography called and she listened. From 2006 until 2011 Kaat was picture editor for the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws and for the glossy GOEDELE. The next was again, and obviously, a step forward: as chief photography she defined the image of the Belgian newspaper De Morgen from 2012 until 2015. Afterwards it was time for Sluitertijd, the visual project office she established herself and in which everything fell into its place. Her passion for photography, her passion for the image, her remarkable position in the professional world of photography. Within Sluitertijd she manages the Dutch photography events – De Donkere Kamer – in Belgium, she gives guest lectures on media and photography in several art schools, she’s agent for 5 Belgian photographers among which Carl De Keyzer is de most known and at last, she is project manager for the 48 STORIES project for Paradox.
